October has been another eventful month for JELI as we continue working on our research and media projects while also supporting various workers’ groups in their organizing efforts. Here are some recent updates on what we have been up to this month

September has been another busy month for the JELI team. We are continuing our important work of supporting workers’ groups and helping to promote labor justice in Thailand through our research, legal advocacy, and organizing. Coronavirus infections and deaths peaked in Thailand during the month of August, and frustrations over the government’s mishandling of the situation spurred another wave of political unrest on the streets of Bangkok. While the country was deep in the middle of both a health and political crisis this month, the JELI team has been doing what we can to support and empower workers struggling through the lockdown.

July has been a challenging month for workers and people all across Thailand, with COVID cases and deaths reaching record highs while the government offers little relief. The JELI team has still been working hard to support workers and promote labor justice in Thailand during these hard times. Below you’ll find updates on JELI’s work from this eventful month.
