The month of love has passed quickly, and the weather is starting to heat up, signaling the changing of the seasons. Since the beginning of the year, the issue we’ve seen frequently in the news has been the Social Security Fund, raising many questions about its transparency and the efficiency of the system, which have caused confusion and debates among insured workers. For our advocacy of Social Security under Section 33 for platform workers and migrant workers, there have also been movements.

The first month of 2025 has already flown by. It was surprisingly cold for quite some time, a rare treat for those of us in Thailand. However, as the weather changes, we now face the persistent issue of PM2.5 pollution, which affects everyone, especially those working outside with little protection like riders. Just a reminder to take extra care of your health during these conditions.

As we bid farewell to 2023 and embraced the new year of 2024, JELI missed the opportunity to extend our wishes for a happy New Year. However, we seize this month of Songkran to wish everyone a joyous Thai New Year. Over the past four months, JELI has remained steadfast in our commitment to promoting labor rights.

Following the election in May, the Pheu Thai Party eventually managed to take the lead in forming the government. In terms of labor rights policies that the Pheu Thai Party has advocated for, many of them remain uncertain in terms of implementation. Therefore, it is essential for the general public to continue monitoring the government and its agendas – to ensure that the party follows through on the promises made to the public.
