Much of the work this month has been about pushing the discussion on platform worker protection forward in Thailand. Since ILO C193 was adopted in June, there is now a clear international standard on platform work. We are pushing for Thailand to move toward ratification, while also calling for the Convention to guide the laws and policies being discussed now.
July was a month of conversations on how social protection and labour rights can better respond to the changing world of work. JELI, together with, FES Thailand hosted the 2nd Regional Networking Visit for Platform Workers in Asia, bringing together platform and digital worker representatives, labour organisations, researchers, activists, and friends from across the region to Bangkok.
